One Month Old

We celebrated Griffin's one month birthday with a trip to the pediatrician. Here are his new stats:
10 pounds 1 ounce (55%)
23 inches (95%)

He is quite the growing boy and we are so glad that he is getting big and strong. And we are literally watching him grow with our new video monitor. It is awesome! We call it Griffin TV and it is our favorite show. It is a little addictive and very entertaining to watch him sleep.

Here are some pictures from September 24 and the new monitor:

Week 3

Griffin's 3rd week went by pretty quickly....especially considering it was the first week I was with him all day, everyday, by myself. We went for a weight check on Wednesday, September 16 and he was 9 lbs, 4 1/2 oz. He is definitely growing as the newborn outfits that fit the first week are now really tight. He had a little baby acne this week, which is mostly gone now but you'll see the little pimples that kept popping up in the pictures.

The weekends are great and what we will live for since Dad is around and not only is it much more fun when Dad is here but he sure does a lot. Saturday he took Griffin for a 2 hour walk and I slept the whole time. I probably hadn't slept that well since he was born. And then on Sunday I went for a massage and Dad was once again in charge. I had to fight back the tears as I said goodbye to Griffin, who was asleep in his crib, but he had so much fun with Dad that by the time I came home he was asleep again. It was great to be pampered but I missed them both so much and was excited to come home and see my boys.

Almost a month old...time is flying!

Dad likes to help me smile

But I might just be pretty close to smiling on my own

Week 2

Week 2-We are settling in a little bit to life with Griffin. Everyday he continues to amaze me and make me laugh and smile. It is crazy how fast the days go by when all we really do is whatever Griffin seems to want and need at the moment. And after a few weeks of our amazing family helping we are finally on our own.

He is growing so much already and I can't believe how fast he is changing. He thinks bedtime starts at 2 am which is a little difficult but he does sleep really well after that so we are starting to become night owls and still feel really lucky to get a few hours of good sleep a night. Here are a few pictures from Week 2...

Thinking about something very serious
Mom celebrated the first day on her own with a glass of wine...the first in many, many months

Saturday Morning...just hanging out on the mat watching football (and you can't see it but yes I am wearing my Penn State booties for the game)

First PSU Game Day

Griffin was 12 days old on Saturday, September 5 and we got to have our first family Penn State Game Day and watch the kick off football game of the 2009 season. On Game Day everyone wears something Penn State to support Joe Pa and the team. Of course Griffin had to get in on this tradition with his own pair of Penn State booties. PSU won the game and Griffin's first game...we look forward to many more victories.

Griffin Henry Reach

He was born on Monday, August 24 at 4:28 pm.
8 lbs, 13 ounces
20 1/4 inches

The first week was amazing and we can't imagine loving anything more. As you might imagine we are exhausted since he doesn't like to sleep at night. But everyone is doing great and we are settling in to life as parents. I wanted to get some pictures up before too long since he seems to change and grow everyday. These pictures are all from the hospital before we came home.

Aunt Bekah was the first to meet Griffin.
