Big boy bed

Griffin is very excited about his big boy bed. Let the battle of the wills begin. Although we have honestly been battling since he could get out of his crib again. Who will win?

Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier

We had a little family outing last Friday with our friend Anita to Chicago's Navy Pier. Griffin had a ton of fun and lots of new adventures. We thought he might be a little scared to go on the Ferris Wheel (or "Big Circle" as he calls it) but not our boy. He loved it and looked right out the windows all the way down. He also rode a little choo-choo train and the carousel. We took advantage of this clear sunny day and took lots of pictures of our little man. Enjoy.

Cool dude...
Jumping...one of his new favorite things

I get to ride the choo-choo train?

Introducing...Slow Poke

Griffin got a new animal friend on our weekend get-away, Slow Poke. We sent home pictures of Slow Poke throughout the trip of all the fun things we were enjoying. I think Griffin was almost as excited to meet Slow Poke in person than he was to see his Mom and Dad.

A Little Get Away for Mom and Dad

We took advantage of the long 4th of July weekend and Grandma's invitation to stay with Griffin and we spent the weekend in Dana Point, CA. Although we missed our little man like crazy we enjoyed every minute of rest and relaxation. We also considered this trip our 5 year anniversary celebration and our baby-moon before baby sister "mister"arrives in September.

Look familiar? We have a similar picture from Costa Rica when I was pregnant with Griffin.

We enjoyed an amazing brunch with my good friend Beth, from high school. And the hotel helped us celebrate our anniversary with a special dessert tray.

And then we all enjoyed what was supposed to be a whale watching tour. Sadly, we didn't see any whales that day but hundreds of dolphins and a sea lion.

The hotel had a great fireworks display that we watched right from our balcony. A great end to a great weekend.
