First Day of School 2014

What a week! We are FINALLY back at school.  It was an awesome summer, but we were all ready for school to start this week.  Griffin is a Lion, going 4 days a week, and Addison is in Playschool, going 2 days a week.  This year's transition was so much easier so far, especially for Addison, and the kids have to be dragged off the playground at the end of school.  We are thrilled to be part of the Wallingford Co-op School again this year.  It is going to be such a fun year!

The tent!

Daddy got a tent for Father's Day this year and he and the kids are attempting their first backyard camp out. We'll see if anyone lasts the night...

Heatherwold Block Party 2014

It's official.  We have the BEST neighborhood ever.  After our first block party we know that we made the right choice in where to raise the kids.  We spent the afternoon at the neighborhood softball game and then the block party was such fun.  Griffin and Addison met so many new friends, both older and younger.  We did water balloon games, tug-of-war, water war (as Griffin called it), drove kid size cars and played on neighbor's swing sets.  It was dark when we dragged the kids home.  Love this place!

2 Wheel Bike! (Video)

How did this happen so fast? How can our first baby be riding a 2 wheel bike already? We are so proud of how brave and determined Griffin is.  This was seriously his first day trying it ever and his third loop around the neighborhood.  I think he really learned from his balance bike the last couple of years and the big 2 wheel bike was an easy transition!  Go Griff!

Scooter!

Spring is in the air and scooters are on the road! Griffin has really taken to the razor scooter and Addison is loving her starter scooter! We made a path on the driveway and are doing loops until the sun sets.  We are going to have some fast little scooterers this summer!

First Slumber Party

Some work in Addison's room isn't quite done so the kids bunked up tonight for a slumber party in Griffin's room. Love having the trundle in there. And because it was a slumber party Griffin is sleeping in his sleeping bag. Let's see if they make it in there together all night. 

Easter 2014 Puzzle Eggs

Easter morning was such a success! The Easter Bunny put puzzle pieces in eggs all over the house and when we got the puzzle put together it gave us a clue to where the kids' baskets where hiding! 

We avoided the first sugar rush of the day! It took about 45 minutes for the egg hunt and puzzle. Addy was the egg finder and Griff worked on the puzzle, then Dad jumped in to help finish it. It was so fun to see everyone work together.  Baskets were hiding in the bathtub! 

At first when Griffin didn't see any baskets he thought we had the wrong day and that the Bunny was going to come tonight! But as soon as he understood that we had to figure out the clue he loved it!

Rough day

Yesterday was a rough day in the Reach house...both kids took nasty falls at a friends house and are pretty banged up. Addy's face seems to have taken the brunt of the fall and she certainly wins the  saddest face award. But Griff's elbows and knees look like he skidded off a motorcycle. I think we had a total of 7 band-aids after our trauma unit was complete. Princess and Ninja turtle band-aids of course. Lollipops prescribed and both are expecting a full recovery. Poor kids.

We're going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo!

Griffin's Spring Concert at school was amazing! The kids were all animals as they learned about the different types of animals and even made their own costumes, with a little help from the teachers.  They were so proud of each other and did a really great job.  Our elephant, a mammal, has been practicing his mammal poem for weeks and learned the zoo, zoo, zoo song (which we all find ourselves singing now).
