Moving Along

Griffin is getting really good at standing on his own and cruising along the furniture. He is a little hesitant to let go and when he does try to take a step he usually tumbles ... though he seems to enjoy falling as much as he does walking! :)

Only a few more weeks until we will be celebrating his first birthday. Aunt Bekah sent him an early birthday present. As you can see from the smile on his face he loves his new car! I think we have used it everyday since it came.

4th of July Weekend and Grandma Visits

Griffin's first 4th of July! We had a blast during the day with Grandma, Uncle Brahm and Celia. And luckily he slept through the crazy fireworks in our neighborhood.

Our trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo

Mom and Dad went kayaking on the Chicago River...such a great way to see the city and a first for us.

It was an awesome weekend!

10 Months Old

When you are about to have a child people tell you all the time how fast it goes...and they were right. The first 10 months have flown by and I decided it was time to pause and take a moment to reflect on everything that Griffin is up to these days since he will probably have some new tricks next week...and so we can remember when he is older...

-He is a super crawler, very fast and loves to be chased down the hallway and get into everything

-A future rock climber because he can climb up almost anything these days (the stairs, a stepstool, the stroller...you name it)

-He has just started standing on his own for a few seconds but only does it when he doesn't realize it

-One of his favorite things to do is bounce. As soon as he wakes up he stands up and bounces and would do it all day

-He loves dogs! And gets so excited when he sees one

-He gets out a few words (or something that sounds like...) Book, Ball, Dog and Up...and a lot of other rambling nonsense that keep us entertained

-A few new favorite songs are How Much is that Doggy in the Window (with barking...see above) and Day-O (not sure where this one came from, I think Beetlejuice had been on tv so I started singing it one day)

-He has five little teeth that are quite sharp

-He also loves to clap when he is happy or proud of himself...it's adorable

-A few weeks ago at his 9 month dr's appointment he was 20 lbs 7 oz and 29.5 inches

I am sure there are a few things I am forgetting but for now we are so grateful for a happy and healthy 10 month old and look forward the future.
