The 'Almost' Done Kitchen

We have gotten a few requests for some more pictures of the condo. So we proudly present...the kitchen. It is the only room 'almost' done since there wasn't really much to do when we moved in.

There were lots of things in the kitchen that we got to pick out. It was a fun room to put together. The cabinets were already installed when we first saw the condo but we picked out the appliances, the granite and the backsplash. The backsplash took a lot of back and forth and several trips to the tile store but we finally agreed on this one. And we just found the perfect counter stools after looking at lots of different options. We are really happy with simple and modern look of these stools and they are comfortable too.

The Orange Closet

Finally, we are in our new home. We have been here for a week and it is been such a whirlwind but wonderful at the same time. Single handedly, we made sure Home Depot is going to have a great first quarter but we are settling in and loving the neighborhood and our condo. G has really surprised me and not only been very handy (especially with all of his new tools from Home Depot) but also totally into all the projects.

Our first big project was the master closet. We decided to paint it orange for a little fun but also bought a closet organization system so that we can take advantage of every square inch. Well, the orange turned out to be really bright! It is much more day-glow orange than pumpkin but it makes us laugh and once everything is up on the walls you can't see that much of it.

Now we have space for all of our stuff and a bright room that will wake you right up in the morning. Here are a couple of pictures of the project and the final result. Good job G! What 's next on the list?

Welcome to our new blog!

Hello world! As we get ready to add a little member to our family and move into our first home we thought this would be a good way to stay in touch and keep everyone up to date. And since we both are still avoiding facebook, we hope this will suffice.

We have a lot going this year but they are all good things and we feel very lucky. I am now 16 weeks and 5 days pregnant with our first child and we can't wait to meet this baby. Most of you won't be surprised to hear that we are definitely finding out if it is a boy or a girl as soon as we can. Then, let the real planning begin. Pink or blue? What do you think?

Tomorrow we are closing on our new condo in Chicago! We will update with pictures and details once we move in. We do realize that over the last nine years we have known each other we have lived is so many apartments it is ridiculous. Although as G just reminded me, one of them we even stayed in for two years! We are finally putting down roots...
