BBQ on the Deck

It finally warmed up enough this weekend in Chicago to have our first bbq on the deck. It is probably my favorite 'room' of the house and I hope that it was the first of many parties we will have this summer.
G put together all the furniture over the last few weeks and is becoming quite the grill master. Look at those beautiful burgers and brats.

Even Ronnie wanted to party with the big kids...but I think that he and I were the only two not drinking.
G also built the corn hole game from scratch (proving that he does more than orange closets) but stayed tuned as they are not quite done yet...

Costa Rica

We just returned from a long weekend in Costa Rica. It was heaven and a great 'baby'moon!

We slept in everyday, hung out by the pool and at the beach, went snorkeling, G golfed (I rode in the cart with him) and we really just relaxed.

The hotel was amazing and they spoil you every chance they get from the cold towels at the pool to the little stuffed turtle they gave us for the baby. G found a new vacation drink...the mojito. And I learned my new favorite phrase...mucho gusto...which the staff said anytime we said thank you or gracias. I also like to say it every 5 minutes now and use it to mean anything I want.

And it was also like a safari with all the animals we saw. Lizards, frogs and monkeys were everywhere.

I have never seen so many monkeys in the wild just jumping from tree to tree and making lots of noise. One night at dinner we sat and watched a frog hunt for moths and we were fascinated as if it was our very own Planet Earth. It was definitely something we don't see in Chicago. Can you see the monkey?

It will probably be our last vacation for just the two of us for a while and we enjoyed every minute of it!

Real Curtains in the Living Room

Since we moved in we have had 'temporary' paper shades on all the windows throughout the condo. We needed them just to have a little privacy but they aren't exactly our dream window treatments.

Gary's Mom/my MIL /and soon to be Grandma helped us pick out fabric a few months ago and we then put her to work making curtains for several rooms. The first ones we put up are the ones in the living room. What a difference curtains can make! Although the room is still quite empty, since we haven't found furniture for it yet, the curtains are a huge improvement and really make the room feel like home.

Thank you MIL! Here are some pictures in the day and at night of the new curtains.
